
Rev. Jonathan A. Mason, Sr.
Rev. Jonathan A. Mason, Sr. is a global leader, pastor, entrepreneur, and community change agent. He serves as Pastor of Northeast Baptist Church and is a Past International President of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Incorporated. Committed to education and service, he supported the adoption and development of a school in Suhum, Ghana, benefiting more than 300 children annually.
In February 2015, he accepted the call to serve as the third Pastor of Northeast Baptist Church following the passing of his father and mentor Rev. Lee Mason, Jr. In 2025, he celebrated his 10th Pastoral Anniversary. Under his leadership, the church has experienced significant growth and continues to thrive.
Inspired by his father, he founded Camp New Joy in Virginia in 2013, a 23-acre retreat that has positively impacted over 300 at-risk youth. A proud graduate of Norfolk State University, Mason has remained actively engaged with his alma mater, delivering the 2015 Commencement Address, establishing a Mass Communications endowment, and receiving the Distinguished Alumni Award and Honorary Doctorate.
Rev. Jonathan A. Mason, Sr.’s personal commitment to academic growth was demonstrated in February of 2020 when he completed his Masters in Ministry from Missio Seminary in Philadelphia.
In 2021, Norfolk State University invited Pastor Mason to serve as a Visiting Professor in the Mass Communications Department. He teaches courses on broadcast sales and radio broadcasting.
With a successful 20-year career in radio and marketing, he later launched his own advertising agency and now owns Philly’s Favor 100.7 FM, Philadelphia’s only FM gospel station.
In 2024, he was appointed by Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker as Chair of the City’s Interfaith Roundtable and as a trustee of the Community College of Philadelphia. Above all, Pastor Mason treasures his role as father to his two sons and lives by the motto, “To God Be the Glory for the Things He has Done.”
Pastor Mason has two sons Jonathan A. Mason, Jr. and Jackson A. Mason who are the “greatest blessings God has given me”.
