Community Development Corporation (CDC)
Serving Frankford. Strengthening Community. Changing Lives.
OVERVIEW
The Northeast Baptist Church Community Development Corporation (NEBC CDC) is committed to improving the quality of life for residents in the Frankford section of Philadelphia. Through strategic programming, partnerships, and outreach, the CDC addresses critical community needs while creating opportunities for growth, stability, and long-term success. Our work is rooted in service, compassion, and collaboration—meeting immediate needs while building a stronger, more connected community.
CORE PROGRAMS & INITIATIVES
Oasis Food Ministry
Every Wednesday | 12:00 PM (until supplies run out)
The Oasis Food Ministry provides free, nutritious food to individuals and families in need. This weekly initiative serves as a lifeline for many in the Frankford and surrounding communities, ensuring consistent access to essential resources.
Youth Dinner Program
Every Tuesday | 6:30 PM
Our weekly Youth Dinner provides a safe and welcoming space for young people to gather, build relationships, and receive a hot meal. The program fosters connection, mentorship, and community among youth in the neighborhood.
Summer Camp Program
Each summer, NEBC CDC hosts a dynamic youth enrichment program designed to provide a safe, engaging, and educational experience for children in the community. The program combines recreation, learning, and leadership development, helping young people grow academically, socially, and personally.
Caravan of Care
Thanksgiving & Martin Luther King Jr. Day
Through our Caravan of Care initiative, we provide over 1,000 meals to our unhoused brothers and sisters each year. This effort reflects our commitment to serving the most vulnerable with dignity, compassion, and consistency.
Community Prayer Walks
Monthly Initiative
In partnership with the Concerned Faith Leaders of Philadelphia and the 15th Police District, we host monthly prayer walks throughout the community. These walks bring together residents, faith leaders, and law enforcement to promote peace, unity, and neighborhood engagement.
Deaconess Marlene Edwards Scholarship Endowment
NEBC CDC proudly supports the Deaconess Marlene Edwards Scholarship Endowment at the Community College of Philadelphia. This initiative helps provide financial assistance to students pursuing higher education, creating pathways to opportunity and long-term success.
COMING SOON
The Gloria Redd Community Center
The NEBC CDC is currently developing the Gloria Redd Community Center, a multi-purpose facility that will serve as a hub for community programming, education, and engagement.
